State's Christian Conservative Leaders Back Harri Anne Smith

DOTHAN, Ala. – While there has been much discussion of Christian conservative values during this election, Senator Harri Anne Smith (R-Slocomb) has has received the endorsements of the Conservative Christians of Alabama and former Christian Coalition of Alabama leader, John Giles. And, although not endorsing Smith, Christian Coalition of Alabama chairman, Dr. Randy Brinson, speaks highly of Smith and sat down for a lengthy interview with Smith which is posted on the group's Web site.(also at the bottom of this page)

Brinson told Smith,"You've been a great proponent for pro-life issues, and the things we in the Christian Community care about." He also noted she had been endorsed by the Susan B. Anthony list "because of your pro-life record and I thought that was pretty outstanding." Smith says she's had a "record of working with the Christian Coalition and helping to fight for family values."

Christian Conservatives of Alabama Board Member John Killian says:

"Senator Smith has shown tremendous courage and conviction in the Alabama Legislature. We have observed the Legislature closely for years and no one should doubt her dedication to Christian values."

Former president of the Christian Coalition of Alabama, John Giles says:

"Senator Harri Anne Smith, in no uncertain terms, has stood tirelessly, fearlessly and firmly to protect the tenets of our organization: Strengthening the family; protecting innocent human life; returning education to local & parental control; easing the tax burden on families; punishing criminals & defending victims' rights; protecting young people & our communities from the pollution of pornography and from the expansion of gambling; defending the institution of marriage and protecting religious freedom."
