Conservative Christians of Alabama Endorse Harri Anne Smith for Congress

DOTHAN, Ala. -- Today, the Conservative Christians of Alabama (CCA) endorsed Alabama state Senator Harri Anne Smith (R-Slocomb) for Congress.

The CCA monitors and evaluates the voting records of elected officials related to pro-family and pro-life values as well as a candidate’s stance on issues such as controlling illegal immigration and tax increases.

"I am pleased and honored to have the support of this group of strong, Christian conservatives," says Smith. “Faith and family are important in my own life and important to the people of the 2nd Congressional District. When I go to Washington I will take the conservative, Christian faith and values of Alabama with me."

The CCA consistently supports and recognizes the most conservative candidates in Alabama primary and general elections.

"Just like the CCA I believe that Republican officeholders should act like Republicans," added Smith. "The Bible tells us we are stewards of the things God has given us, this includes money. Many in Washington have forgotten how to be good stewards of money. I will fight as I always have to keep taxes low on Alabama’s citizens. I will also fight, as I have in the Alabama Senate, to bring illegal immigration under control."

CCA Board Member John Killian says,"Senator Smith has shown tremendous courage and conviction in the Alabama Legislature. We have observed the Legislature closely for years and no one should doubt her dedication to Christian values."

The runoff election for the 2nd Congressional District will be held on Tuesday, July 15
